The Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M (indicating the 16 Championships Ferrari has won) combines the best of the 430 Scuderia and the open air feel of the F430 Spider. The Scuderia Spider was unveiled at the World Finals in Mugello in celebration of Ferrari's 16th win in the Formula 1 Constructor’s World Championship.

Increased power on the 430 Scuderia came from a revised intake, exhaust and an ion-sensing knock-detection system that allowed for a higher compression ratio. The Scuderia semi-automatic transmission gained improved "Superfast", (known as Superfast2), software for faster 60 millisecond shift-times. A new traction control system combined the F1-Trac traction and stability control with the E-Diff electronic differential.

All these innovations from the 430 Scuderia have been included with the Scuderia Spider 16M - combine that with the wind in your hair sensation of the F430 Spider and you have one mean machine on your hands.

The Scuderia Spider 16M comes in lighter than the F430 Spider so with the 510 hp provided by its V8 engine and a power-to-weight ratio of 2.6 kg/hp, it delivers a blistering 0-100 kph (62 mph) acceleration in just 3.7 seconds and a superb top speed of 315 kph (196mph). Ferrari claims that around their test track, Fiorano Circuit, it is faster than a Ferrari Enzo.
