The 503hp 430 Scuderia was designed to compete with cars like the Porsche RS-models and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. Increased power comes from a revised intake, exhaust, and an ion-sensing knock-detection system that allows for a higher compression ratio. Thus the weight-to-power ratio is reduced from 2.96 kg/hp to 2.5 kg/hp. In addition to the weight saving measures, the Scuderia jumps past the F430 with faster 60 millisecond shift times (an improvemnet over the 150 milliseconds on the F430). A new traction control system combines the F1-Trac traction and stability control with the E-Diff electronic differential. The Ferrari 430 Scuderia does 0-60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 3.1 s and 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 198 miles per hour (319 km/h).

What all this means in driver terms is that the Ferrari 430 Scuderia is about as close as you'll get to a race car experience in the comfort of your own backyard, and the degree of customization at your fingertips allows you to enjoy a day at the track and an evening out on the town with just a touch of a button.
